The VISIT FLORIDA family continues to work diligently to ensure everyone in our industry has the resources needed to recover following Hurricane Michael. I encourage all impacted residents, businesses, and those who wish to assist in our state's recovery efforts go to VISITFLORIDA.org for up-to-date resources.
Today, as part of our nearly $9 million marketing plan following Hurricane Michael and this year's red tide blooms, VISIT FLORIDA announced the relaunch of Florida Now, an interactive landing page to provide real time information from Florida destinations and encourage the continuation of bookings to the state.
The landing page, now live at VISITFLORIDA.com/FloridaNow, is a collection of Hurricane Michael recovery updates and information including an interactive map with photos, videos, twitter feeds and webcams. In addition, the page includes a new Northwest Florida blog section that can be filtered by city to show business openings, coming soon messages, upcoming events and other destination-specific information submitted by tourism businesses to help visitors make the most informed travel decisions.
I invite all tourism businesses located in Bay, Calhoun, Escambia, Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty, Madison, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Taylor, Wakulla, Walton, and Washington counties to constantly submit relevant blog posts to be featured on the page.
I invite all Florida tourism businesses to submit images and videos to be shared on our consumer social channels, and webcams to be showcased on the relaunched Florida Now page. To submit social content for exposure, click here. To submit a webcam for review, fill out this form.
As the state's official tourism marketing corporation, after any occurrence that impacts potential travel to the state, VISIT FLORIDA has a responsibility to provide information regarding affected destinations while also sharing the "open for business" message of those unaffected areas. With the tourism industry's assistance, we will effectively communicate this message with potential visitors and enable them to see that Florida is still the No. 1 travel destination in the world.
If any of you have any questions or unmet needs, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Together we are Florida strong.
