Venture Out 733 Shark Dr

We loved the resort and how close it is to everything you may need and/or want while on vacation. The house itself was clean upon our arrival, which we appreciated. However, the house itself needs a lot of updating. The air conditioner worked amazingly well, and the main shower and flooring were very nice. Outside of that, however, the house could really use renovations both inside and out. The handle on the storm door broke midway through our stay. Since we didn’t have keys at times, this created an inconvenience, although we managed to work around it. The TVs didn’t work for the first few days. After contacting the host, two of the three were eventually working, but we were never able to watch TV in the main bedroom. We were told that a new cable box was being installed on our checkout date. The golf cart needs to be replaced immediately. It is extremely worn out and nearly left us stranded on several occasions. It also rides very rough, is quite loud, and shakes the entire time you’re driving it. I’m not sure we would rent through Venture Out again rather than directly through an owner, as Venture Out seems to nickel-and-dime guests with extra fees. We paid an additional $150 for linens and towels. Unfortunately, the towels were dingy, mismatched, and not of good quality. The washcloths provided were actually microfiber cleaning cloths. We’ve traveled extensively, and this is the first time we’ve ever been charged extra for what we consider basic necessities. I can’t imagine many people wanting to pack their own linens, make the beds upon arrival, and then take those linens back home afterward. It takes away from the convenience and relaxation of being on vacation. We were also charged a $50 fee to check in just a few hours early, which has never been an issue for us at other resorts, along with a $75 vehicle fee. Overall, there were quite a few extra charges that we’ve never encountered at other places in the area. I do want to add that our host was great. He was polite, responsive, punctual with communication, and very helpful throughout our stay. We will absolutely return to Venture Out, as the resort itself is very nice. However, we would not stay at 733 Shark Drive again, and we would not rent the linens and towels in the future.

We absolutely love Venture Out and have stayed there many years. We enjoyed our stay at Randall’s place (733 Shark) and would ultimately choose to stay there again. Our only complaint were the floors. I get that we are at the beach and I expect sand on the floors but our feet were constantly black/sticky on the bottom and the sand was excessive in our home. It needed a very good mopping, maybe two or three times lol…. We had an issue with the hallway bathroom sink not draining and Randall was prompt to fix this issue so that didn’t bother us and we appreciated them fixing it quickly. He was super nice also! We always look forward to our Venture Out trips and we’d stay here again. The mattresses were notably comfortable and we loved the master bath.
